About the Whitsundays |
The Whitsundays consists of a group of 74 Islands which form a protective barrier offshore from the mainland village of Airlie Beach. Sheltered in turn by the Great Barrier Reef the Islands commonly have fringeing reefs and small sheltered beaches. Combined with a 10 - 15 knot onshore breeze this creates our world renown azure blue safe, sailing and cruising waters. Be sure to include a trip to Whitehaven Beach, consistently voted one of the best beaches in the world. The spectacular silica white sands of this gorgeous location stretch on for seven kilometres. You will want to return to experience its beauty again.
